We decided to try two recipes out of the book for our Christmas Eve dinner. Normally we are with extended family, but for 2020 COVID-style we were at home with my mom as our only guest.
This dish was easy to pull together and cooked quickly. It was a hit around our dinner table.

Wow – Did that salsa verde ever pack a punch! The preserved lemons from an earlier recipe were an important component for the salsa. I strayed from traditional Christmas foods for this year and I’m glad I did. I also opted for cooking the steak in a borrowed cast iron skillet from my mother-in-law. I think that was a smart choice on this one.
