The Doctoral Graduation!

I have spent the past 8 years working on a PhD.  It was long.  It was tiring.  It was great.  But now – I’m ready to do something different!  As I inched closer to graduation day, I let myself begin to dream about how I might start spending my time once I wasn’t writing every spare minute.

I decided to cook my way through a cookbook! After much thought, I chose the well-respected Sara Moulton and her new cookbook, Sara Moulton’s Home Cooking 101.  I have grown to love Sara’s cooking perspective by listening to her guest appearances on Christopher Kimball’s Milk Street Radio podcast.

It’s my goal to cook every single recipe in this cookbook.  It’s going to take awhile (see those 4 kids in that picture?), but I’m excited.  Actually, I can cook.  But I’m ready to be a better cook.  I want to challenge myself to make recipes I probably wouldn’t try on my own (I already saw octopus in here!).  And I want to encourage my family to join me on the way.

Maybe you will too…
